Image "compression" is when the quality declines due to bad formating, resulting in clumps of color that are noticeably separated from other areas of an image. I see a lot of it in the sky. When I get that, I use a blending or smudging tool to smooth out the edges or eliminate the compression all together (if possible). [link]
Best of luck. And I'm sorry for not responding sooner; I come and go on Deviant Art.
Very cool piece. I love the hidden story within the mist: the face, the moon, the man kneeling with a raised hand. It's definately a powerful piece. Very mood setting. The absence of any bright and lively colors spells the sense of doom over the city, and yet we wonder what all the commotion is with those hazy lights. Souls being reaped?
If the movie "2012" wanted a promotional boost, I'd definately have this as a poster!
I reallyyy like this! It shows how even the bad in the world are living without hope? Something along those lines. I like how you put them all over, in the foreground AND the backgroud. It helps it look more real. And i really like the city below it. wonderful work!
Wow, this is like a Rene Magritte nightmare come to life.
The imagery is very arresting and evocative. It's also an abstract picture, which allows the viewer to impose some of themself into things. It dares them to try to figure out what this image means to them.
I always like that sort of thing in photo manipulation. Well, I like it to be there for art in general, but photo manipulation especially.
